Malaysia has always had a somewhat neutral stance. I don't remember them saying anything in favour Kashmir. He maybe a good leader for his country but some how people like to portray him as a Muslim world leader which he clearly isn't.

We must also consider Malaysia as being very diverse country, indians and hindus being in quite a good majority there, also other minorities. Malaysia portrays itself as an secular state with peace and equal opportunities for all and hence will not take a stance which creates any differences in its own population.
