Thats an interesting thread. I was thinking, would you rather have a superb waseem akram with occasional match fixings or a incompetent bowler with no hope of taking wickets, let alone wining the matches?

A corrupt but competent Waseem Akram throwing world cup final or semi final would be ok for patwaris I guess.

How will a corrupt person delegate power to a competent person? He/she will look for an equally corrupt person or indulge in nepotism to protect his/her own interests.
I am no expert but don't see how can you compare China and Saudia in this regard?

Read your statement again. I think you are smart enough to find out the logical fallacy in it yourself. ?

Both the Match-Fixer and so called "incompetent" bowler were picked out by the selectors among thousands of aspirants!! So once they are in the playing 11, all 11 are equally Competent. You can question their performance. But performance doesn't mean competence. Similarly, every MPA/MNA that makes to the parliament is an equally Competent representative since they all went through the same electoral process! Now one may PERFORM at one job better than another but it wouldn't make the second incompetent. It would just make the first a better performer!

Hence I said it's a stupid question to begin with. I could have tolerated it coming from the likes of our 3rd degree pass anchors but it was a disappointment to see from Atif Mian. ??
