Housing Schemes Vs Agricultural Lands.

Our future depends upon this war , for the last 15 years housing schemes are winning against agricultural lands. The rate of how fast the agricultural lands are being converted into housing schemes is alarming. Sialkot is a small city and there are several housing schemes now and latest being the smart city. Almost 90 percent of them are built on agricultural lands. If this continues on for a few more years , pakistan will have even more problems with shortage of crops which were once deemed more than enough for the people. No one is ready to bell the cat which is growing seriously in size.

no bijli means no entertainment and wailay log, which means only ahem 1 thing, which means more abaadi which means more houses needed which means less agricultural land...

70 percent of citi housing sialkot is empty , it was started more than 10 years ago. There is need of housing but not at the rate at which the housing societies are growing.

You are absolutely right. This is because of increasing population. The solution is simple 1.strict ban on using agriculture land for any housing/commercial activity. 2. encourage multi-storey apartment buildings in small/medium sized cities instead of single storey bungalows. 3. discourage farmhouse culture (rich people wasting agriculture land for making their leisure houses).

Govt has already banned any new housing society in Lahore. This is the first govt who has planned the vertical growth instead of horizontal growth!
