All this non-violence rubbish from Gandhi was just a public face when in reality he was a very different character. Fact is that he was a racist from his days as a student in the RSA and also enjoyed drinking his own piss and sleeping with his two neices.

Jinnah on the other hand never claimed to be an angel but was able to recognise congress and Gandhi especially for what they truely were.
