Mrs. Farzana Panhwar is daughter of Fazal Illahi Chowdhury (Late) and wife of M.H.Panhwar (Late) , was born in Karachi on 15th September 1957. She worked in the fields of organic agriculture, bio-technology, genetic engineering, post-harvest technology, environment, pollution, horticulture, floriculture, forestry, education, health, breast cancer, farm chemical, animal husbandry, gender and many other fields. Her more than 200 research papers has been published through out the World and she is a co-author of three technical books and 12 agriculture manuals (un-published). On her research work the U.S.A has given her the Gold medal “The medal of Honor”, Switzerland has given her “The rural creativity award”, & United nation has given her “The best practice award”.

With over 200 research papers published internationally in many languages throughout the world and the recipient of Rural Creativity Award, Gold Medal of Honor from the US and the UN Best Practice Award, Farzana Panhwar stands prominent in a society lacking far behind in education.
Prize for Women's Creativity in Rural Life 1997 from the World Women Summit Foundation. WWSF, a humanitarian, non-governmental and international, non-confessional and non-profit organization with United Nations consultative status (ECOSOC, UNFPA and DPI), works for a new development paradigm with and for women and children.
Mrs. Farzana Panhwar got master degree from Karachi University in Bio-chmeistry in 1981. She has worked on soil chemistry, macro and micro nutrients, composts, organic fertilisers, and growth regulators as applied to fruit crops and post-harvest technology of sub-tropical furits. She has also published a number of articles on animal, poultry and prawn/shrimp feed, raising of shrimp and rabbits, plants of desert areas of Sindh, bio-gas form agricultural waste and genetic property.
