ایک مضمون میں ڈاکٹر حفیظ پاشا نے کہا کہ غربت کی قومی شرح جو جون 2018 میں31.3 فیصد تھی جون2020 تک بڑھ کر 40فیصدہوجائے گی۔ جون 2018میںغربت کاشکارافراد کی تعداد69 ملین تھی جوجون2020تک بڑھ کر87ملین ہوجائے گی جوپی ٹی آئی حکومت کے پہلے دو سال میں غربت کی شرح میں 26فیصداضافہ یامزید18ملین افرادکی غربت میںشمولیت کو ظاہرکرتاہے۔

ڈاکٹرپاشا کے بقول پی ٹی آئی حکومت کے پہلے سال8ملین لوگ غربت میں داخل ہوئے۔ رواں مالی سال کے اختتام تک مزیددس ملین افرادکے غربت کی لکیر سے نیچے چلے جانے کااندازہ ہے۔

It is pretty sad that even in this day and age of widely available internet, and verifiable media, people are still happy with just picking up a random headline by their favorite newspaper, and posting it without verifying the headlines, or the content.
The headline is the most misused and abused segment of news, threads, and articles these days.

Dr. Hafeez Pasha said that AT THE END OF THIS FISCAL YEAR in June 2020, 8 million people are expected to be below the poverty line.
And express news has posted the headline stating that 8 million have already fallen below the poverty line.
It may not be embarrassing for social media posters to just reproduce such flagrantly conflicting news/headlines, but that merely highlights the moral dishonesty, lack of integrity, and lack of common sense in our society.

This irresponsible and ignorant behavior is why people rush to lynch someone accused of blasphemy....without even confirming the facts. What exactly is the difference between you and them?

Has inflation gone up in Pakistan? Yes.
Have prices gone up in Pakistan? Yes.
But most of the public understands the reasons behind those. And know that there is a silver lining to this cloud. Add to that, the fact that this statement by Dr. Hafeez Pasha came out a few months ago...not today. Plus, Dr. Pasha's overall assessment of the govt.s policies is positive. What he has outlined in terms of poverty line etc are side effects. (that too is questionable, considering the parameters for poverty-line change according to inflation).
