Copies of Holy Quran found in street drains of Taif, Saudi Arabia

Police authorities, in collaboration with the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Taif have uncovered over fifty copies of the Holy Quran discarded in the street drainage system in Al-Salama district of Taif.

The service of a company that specializes in opening grated drainage inlets was availed, and dozens of copies of the Holy Scripture were retrieved from the drain water.

Akhbaar24 reported that close to several copies of the scared book were found from within different storm water inlets in the area. While authorities are conducting further search and recovery, Taif police has launched an investigation into the incident.

But if this was Pakistan, the nearest Christian / Hindu basti or house of some "other sect" would have been burned down by a mob of angry mard-e-momins just because the local maulvi said so.....

Because due to unawareness of our cleriks people throw Holy Qurran into the drains and rivers and canals. I will request our ulma please issue a fatwa tha these Holy pages can be burnt into a special place this is best solution.

not only Christians but I remember a muslim guy was burning papers in a pot just outside of his enterance. A nearby madrisa student start shouting he is burning Qurran and went to the neares police station. He founded only some papers with verses and rest was newspapers. Thanks God people did not kill him and court found him not guilty but Judge was threatened from religious grup and by spent almost a year in jail.After jail he left the area and city.
Pleaase do not follow those culprits jahil who are teaching wrong islamic teachings. their teachings leads to a big insult of Holy Qurran , today every drain and river has millions of Holy Qurran and pages.May Allah throw these jahils into the Hell.

Few Points :

1 - No muslim(set aside sunni shiite wahhabi etc ) can ever even THINK of doing such non-sense thing of throwing Holy Quran to sewage.

2 - Such things have also been noticed many times in pakistan ( neti jeti bridge in karachi , lahore canal )

3 - Usually its because of the reason that for old quranic books people just like to put in water ( river , canal , sea ) ..... in urdu we call it as "Thanda Kerna". , some people like to burn such old religious books or pages to avoid any disrespect.

4 - people who are cursing saudis ( as saudis have done it deliberately LOL ) just have sectarian hatred towards them , be logical ...bring something more potent.

Verse 6 , Surah Al-hujraat , "O you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done"
