Complete details, Why Police shot a Black man in America yesterday

This person is a convicted rapist and has 2 counts of assault and domestic violence on his criminal record. He also had an active arrest warrant for aiming a gun at a persons face in a bar.

Police were there to protect everyone around them from this criminal who was resisting arrest, not obeying order and possibly reaching for the same weapon from his car that he aimed at another person in the bar.

More police officers die answerig domestic violence calls than are unarmed men from all races put together.

Regardless of his criminal record the police has to treat everyone person on scene as a potential threat.

The guy had an arrest warrant for pointing a gun at someone. He resisted arrest and opened the door of his car with his back to the officers, the police has no option but to shoot. Otherwise he could have pulled a gun and kill one or two officers like it has happened many times before.

He did have a scuffle with police, they tried to tazer him and restrain him but he got away and went to open the door of his car while police had their guns on him. People should take reaponsibility for their actions.

You can if the person tries to get away and potentially reach for a gun from their car or their pocket. Police do not know if he is armed or not and they have to treat it as if he is armed unless he complies and lets them check him and his car.

I dont think you are aware of how many police officers are killed like this in US and what is police protocol regarding this but the officers were justified in doing what they did.

You can not shoot an unarmed person while he is being arrested and only a feet away from police, on his back. There is no justification for use of fatal weapon, no matter how much criminal he was. Police could arrest him and judge could throw him in lifetime in Jail. But no justification for shooting an unarmed man on his back. If somebody thinks otherwise, he /she should go and see a psychologist.

First of all you don't do shit which gets the police involved.

Second When you have two police officers with guns aimed at you, you don't ignore them. Having guns pointed at you means the police is serious and will use them. It's not for shits and giggles

Third You don't with 2 police officers with guns pointed at you casually walk away from them open your car and then reach in for something.

Even then Police did not have fire real bullets and as there were more than one policeman on the scene, if they they have warrants to arrest than they must have come prepared with full force knowingly he was convicted in the past. They should have teaser guns, which are not that lethal as are guns.
Just for the sake of argument, imagine that police had no choice but to shoot the person than they did not have to fire burst, one non-life threatening fire aiming at the non-life threatening body part could not be very difficult from two feet away. The way they were continuously firing at the person it is very obvious that Police wanted to have that person killed in front of his three year old daughter.

They did have tasers and they did use it on him and they tried to restrain him and he faught back and got away before going to his car.

Only 4 of the bullets hit him and none of them hit him in the head or vital organs and the officers saved his life by giving him immediate medical help after the shooting.

These situations are very dangerous and can change very fast. Lots of police officers have died with someone reaching for a gun in their car in the blink of an eye or pulling a gun out of their pocket, so if an officer has their gun out it means they feel threatened and they are ready to shoot, its the worst time to open your car door with your back to the police and they cant see what you are reaching for.
