Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday called out Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that he has a “fascist” narrative that “keeps on changing”.
“What the hell is a narrative? Is life now a fascist screenplay where if you don’t follow a script, you are declared dictator? Screw you and your narrative. I have an ideology and my ideology doesn’t change [but] your narrative keeps on changing,” Bilawal tweeted.
“Read, think, speak and ignore fascist trolls who run this country,” he rebuked.
On Thursday, in a meeting with senior journalists, PM Imran had lamented that Pakistan has “sublet its narrative of religion to uneducated clerics”.
Imran in an allusion to the Afghan jihad, adding that Pakistan failed to promote the state narrative of Islam since 9/11 bombings. He said the government would implement the National Action Plan (NAP) at all costs.
“It is unfortunate that people like Maulana Fazlur Rehman have become the custodians of religion,” said the prime minister whose party was an ally of JUI-S led by late Maulana Samiul Haq during the general elections.
Speaking about the major challenges facing Pakistan, the premier had said that Pakistan is serious in its crackdown on banned militant outfits.
