Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monady stated that authority to remove the name of Nawaz Sharif from Exit Control List (ECL) rests with Interior Ministry and the Cabinet Committee.
The anti-graft watchdog maintained that it would accept whatever decision taken by competitive authority in this regard.
The officials of NAB further added that its jurisdiction is valid within the boundaries of the country. They added that NAB had not opposed Nawaz’s pleas because of medical reasons.
The officials further added that NAB has not yet received medical reports of the ailing Nawaz and that anti-graft watchdog would take any decision after reviewing the reports of Nawaz Sharif.
Sources privy to NAB added that interior minister had removed a name of the person from ECL without informing the body.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that air ambulance to carry ailing Nawaz Sharif to London would land in Pakistan on Wednesday.
“Keeping in view deteriorating health indicators of Nawaz, doctors have recommended to call air ambulance”, Aurangzeb was quoted as saying.
