ISLAMABAD - The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) today (August 16) staged a protest outside the United Nations (UN) office on the event of Security Council’s special meeting on Kashmir.
The UN Secretary General’s memorandum stated that the Security Council should uphold the rights of Kashmiris. “Kashmiris will not accept any option other than independence from India,” it added. It also stated that self-determination is the fundamental right of Kashmiris.
APHC leaders Syed Yousuf Naseem, Abdul Hameed and others expressed that the SC should act on its resolutions. “It is high time that Kashmir should be given its due freedom,” APHC leader Abdul Hameed asserted.
Demonstrators expressed that they will keep making efforts until they get independency from the India in Kashmir.” Seize fireline has to collapse like the Berlin Wall”, they added.
APHC leaders appealed the UN to send its peacekeeping forces in Kashmir to put a stop on widespread genocide of Kashmiris.
