Ur first sentence is correct.
Its defined in Anti Money Laundering Act 2010 that says managing money on behalf of someone is a Money Laundering.

Irony is that they are admitting money laundering but saying how can you punish us? Lets assume there is no law related to Anti Money Laundering, still if someone is trying to hide his money in someone's else account means money is not clean else why not to get it transferred through your own account?
They have no shame to admit before its too late to face lord of heavens and earth on judgment day.
