I about all cases, a working bridge (that has served for some 5-6 years adequately ) collapses/cracks because pf movement of earth underneath the bridge , around/under the pile foundation, and rarely because of construction faults/building material reasons . It cannot be said as design faults as such because the design would also be within some some assumptions of earth movement/flow speeds..

Looks like a poorly constructed bridge.

This bridge was build in 1978 by Chinese, It was one of the best bridges on the KKH not very long but quite high from the river bed, however, this glacier is known to move back and forth every 20 years, I think it took enough hits over the years and gave it.
