Oh man where should I start,
1- During electricity shortage, nawaz signed up many bad contracts with producers, giving ironclad guarantee to buy electricity from them at a very high rate for many years to come. Initially govt just partially paid them tax payers money (subsidy) so the full extent of the new bills do not show up at customers door.
It CANNOT be done forever, the circular debt takes huge chunk of the development budget and only makes the electricity producers rich. Now the govt is just letting the customers pay the price of producing electricity and thats why the bills are higher.
2- The huge loans taken by NS and Zardari are now Due, They used them to make showpiece large construction projects with kickbacks and corruption potential. While they became rich with properties in London and Dubai, We are left to return the loan with higher taxes.
