Your comparison is misplaced.
It is third tier civil award given to persons who shows some excellence in their various fields of social life - in science, research, teaching, fiction, poetry, social services, showbiz and much more. Every year this award is given to 3-4 individuals from showbiz. Several actors, singers, directors, currently in the field, have been awarded in the past. A number of actors currently in the industry have been awarded. Those who have life long services in a specific field are give a higher award.
What is your objection specifically? Shouldn't the people who show excellence in social arena and their specific field be recognized? Things cannot be run by your like and whims. I don't know this gale to judge whether there were more deserving people in this field but your objection has no merit. And your hatred for the lady is beyond comprehension.
Those who have used this occasion to talk ill of the lady should ashamed.

I have never seen such candidate from Hollywood being rewarded in US. This matter involves national prestige and should be treated as such. Bringing film industry and low quality people in the middle is truly shameful and petty. Just shows that the nation values dancers and petty people over people who do work of national importance like soldiers, policemen, researchers, engineers and scientists.

Such awards in US are given to soliders who do excellent work or eminent researchers or literary personalities rather than lollywood/dancer material
