I think the whole credit of creating 110000 MegaWatt electricity goes to PMLN government , as i remember the last ramadan too was largely loadshedding free. Okay the government can take a bit of credit of some improvement in transmission but the credit of additional recovery goes to the skyrocketing electricity bills.

Well. It's factually incorrect. Why would you have an installed capacity of 26,000 MW when you have a transmission capacity of 19,000MW only?? The expensive bills are going in the capacity payment of ~5000MW that was not required but installed by Nooraye to make commission. Those plants produce 0% electricity and still take guaranteed payments from our bills! Who should hang PMLN thugs for this corruption? Whether 4 years ago or 4 years later! Every improvement in electricity supply was always going to come from transmission improvement and circular debt reduction. True that transmissions line needed to be improve but I hope you remember the situation before PMLN came into power , i still remember loadshedding of 18 20 hours and it was not all because of inability to trasmit power. We did not have enough enough energy generation capacity in pakistan. Thanks to the previous government that we saw almost the end of loadshedding in pakistan , as you have said that only transmission needs to be better and I guess athis government can at least do this.

I agree that energy situation improved during PMLN's vs PPP's tenure, but as i said earlier, it wasn't because of additional power plants (that were not the bottleneck). It was due to the fact that many industries shut down. Pakistan's exports and industry production fell down by 25% and as a result so did overall energy demand! Many industries including your whole textile sector moved to Bangladesh. Hence, the lost industrial demand was then diverted to household consumption and we witnessed reduction in load shedding. Pakistan's total consumption increased by only 6% from 2005 - 2016.

It'll be better if you can read the whole report for your own satisfaction. It's saying the same thing that I have summarized here but it'll help you understand how conveniently Zardari and Ganjay brothers have looted the exchequer and fooled our public! All what ganja did to improve load shedding was that he shut down our industry and diverted industry's power consumption to household and installed the power plants separately to make hefty commissions out of it! While overall transmission and consumption remained about the same and circular debt shot to Rs. 1400 billion!

Dead wrong. There was massive load shedding during last (2018) Ramadan. Noonas increased the capacity but forgot how to transmit it.

So you believe that we are not going to need any additional electricity in the near future either? When or if the transmission line are upgraded , we will always be needing additional electricity and the demand will grow every year. Thats why i said the currentbgovernment just has to upgrade the transmission system and make use of already available installed capacity.

We'll definitely need additional capacity in the future. But you only build the capacity when you need to and can bring it online. Otherwise, you'll incur losses. Let me explain you how!

The power plants are not built on government loans. But they are built through Foreign Direct investors who invest their money. Those investors only invest when you guarantee them a certain minimum profit! So when we sign a deal with them, we promise them that we'll give you a certain minimum payment every month, whether you'll not even generate 1% electricity. This payment is called Capacity payment! Right now we have many power plants (~5000MW) which are generating 0 electricity but are still getting paid every month in lieu of the capacity payments. 20-25% of the bill that we pay today, go into those capacity payments right now! Had those plants been built only when we had the transmission capacity first, they might have been online today! Meaning that our electricity bills would have been lower than 20-25% to that we are paying today!

So you believe that we are not going to need any additional electricity in the near future either?
