If you can only understand the misery and helplessness of a family and what they go through caring for a Thalessaemic child and how the entire family's structure and fabric is shaken. Law or no law, this test should be taken by any potential bride or groom. Well done Dr. Yasmin for doing something practical and helpful.

The couples should also be given a crash course on marital life issues before marriage. This could include basic etiquette, how to maintain harmony, sexual & reproductive health and education, family planning, pre and post natal issues, child bearing and child raising, basic home economics, maintaining family relationships, diet & nutrition, physical health etc.

Teaching basic etiquettes, how to maintain harmony etc is a job that should have been fulfilled by the parents. Nonetheless, this would definitely be a good step towards producing more happier couples and families.

The problem is that young couples especially from the rural areas have no clue before marriage on what they are getting into, what to expect, and how things work in a marital relationship.

She should clean up the gutter like hospitals of her province and worry about improving the healthcare situation.
Bibi, visit some of the hospitals and look at the condition of the poor there. Have some mercy on those poor souls but how can you? Doctors are incapable of mercy and are butchers of humans.
After half a year, this bullshit is what she has to show for herself? What's next? She is going to hand out condoms to people to practice safe sex?
