Excellent decision.
The couples should also be given a crash course on marital life issues before marriage. This could include basic etiquette, how to maintain harmony, sexual & reproductive health and education, family planning, pre and post natal issues, child bearing and child raising, basic home economics, maintaining family relationships, diet & nutrition, physical health etc.
The problem is that young couples especially from the rural areas have no clue before marriage on what they are getting into, what to expect, and how things work in a marital relationship.Teaching basic etiquettes, how to maintain harmony etc is a job that should have been fulfilled by the parents. Nonetheless, this would definitely be a good step towards producing more happier couples and families.
