I was about to write the same.
However, this menace is seen everywhere in the world. Here in America these pharmaceutical companies bribe in a different way.... like getting you yearly membership of golf clubs. Financing your trips to Las Vagus or to theme parks in the guise of a seminar or a conference... all those gimmicks, but no hard cash.
