You are forgetting or intentionally ignoring a basic fact. It was the government that signed an agreement promising the protesters to oust the French Ambassador from Pakistan and boycott all French products. From the government's side, the Minister of interior and Minister of Religious Affairs signed the agreement. Why government is withdrawing from its own legal and moral obligations this agreement poses. In my opinion, the government should have not made this agreement and if the logic is that the government wanted sit-in to end and countrywide protests come to an end then it was the most wrong thing to do. Didn't the government know if it withdraws from the agreement it would be more catastrophic?
Noor ul Haq Qadri and Brigadier Ejaz Shah should be taken to task. They both were the signatories of the document. Now they are hiding somewhere. They must have known that they cannot out French Ambassador b/c then whole EU will cut off relations with Pakistan. Even Turkey, whose President gave very very strong statement against French President, didn’t cut off diplomatic ties with France. How could Noor Qadri and Ejaz Shah think that Pakistan could do that? . Pakistani government/PM protested strongly against France, people boycotted French products at their own, and that’s it. What else these TLP leaches want.
Government will have to use two-prong solution against TLP. First, they will have to put ban on TLP as many things that TLP is doing is to enhance its votebank. Second, government will have to use prominent brelvi ulema to diffuse the influence of TLP from within Brelvi masses. Pir Afzal Qadri and Dr. Ashraf jalali can be used for this purpose. Jaahil londa of Khadim Rizvi is no match to the aforementioned Brelvi ulema. Khadim’s londa is only 25 years old and is no match to his father in terms of oratory skill.
But, before government can do any of the above thing, PM has to get out of the influence of his wife who seems to be a staunch supporter of TLP.
