Islamabad -- Pakistan Tehrik Insaf Chitral leader Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah has stressed upon the need for immediate electoral reforms, specially the introduction of 'Run off' elections incase a candidate fails to get 50 percent of the polled votes in the first round. He expressed these views at a meeting with the Secretary General PTI Dr Arif Alvi in Islamabad, Monday.
The meeting was held under the forum, 'Friends of PTI' included senior ex armed forces officers, senior serving corporate managers, executives, bankers, professionals and philanthropists. The meeting was held with the intention to help PTI win elections and bring about the direly needed change in Pakistan, without which there is a fear of anarchy and mayhem in the country. Secy Gen Dr Arif Alvi reiterated Pakistan Tehrik Insaf's resolve of curbing corruption and promoting merit in the country. He assured the participants that after coming into power PTI will not let them and the people of Pakistan down.
Participants of the meeting reassured the Secretary General their support for the PTI as long as it represents the aspirations of the people of Pakistan. Many of the participants said they never took interest in politics before, but now they consider it a debt of their country upon them which they are bound to pay back by taking part in politics and supporting the clean and promising party which today is the PTI, they said.
