GHQ attack mastermind Dr Usman sentenced to death

Updated at: 1338 PST, Saturday, August 13, 2011 ISLAMABAD: A military court has announced the sentence for seven accused in the GHQ attack Saturday, Geo News reported. The court had initiated the trial of the seven accused including Dr Usman following the attack on GHQ on October 10, 2009. The court sentenced Dr Usman to death while his accomplice former soldier Imran Siddiq was sentenced to life in prison. Three civilians were also sentenced to life in prison while two civilians were sentenced to seven years each in prison. At least 10 soldiers were killed during the attack on the army headquarters while nine of the ten attackers were also killed. Dr Usman was injured during the attack and taken into custody.
