If he's doing this and going back to his '92 cricket days where he didn't listen to anyone and did things as he saw fit, there's a light at the end of the tunnel since such a person is needed in Pakistan who is principled and not easily influenced.
However, as he learned from the '96 elections, he needs to do some degree of "muk muka" with the establishment. He was stubborn back then and didn't even win one seat even though he was offered around 30 by the army, yet he chose to ask for more, and ended up getting wiped out, mainly because of their bewilderment at how delusional he was about his own stature and absolutely out of touch with reality about his potential to run a country.
Arabs went from Camel, to Cadillac, we all know how that turned out. Imran was thinking he could go from the National Cricket team to Hospital to running a country of more than 150million people. The result would've been ugly as with Arabia.
Anywhoo, this time around, he has decided to play by the rules, which has resulted in him gaining popularity and accept self-interested, opportunistic, self-appointed PM hopefuls.
With that said, unfortunately, there's no chance that such a principled lady would come into the "new" PTI fold as this isn't the "old" PTI and not based on principles, as we had originally hoped.
As I predicted elsewhere, this will be a repeat of the '96 elections in which the military brought in Nawaz. This, in turn, will lead to a '99 situation as we are likely to see another coup because Nawaz doesn't understand the meaning of the word "limits".
