Govt decides to bring fresh contempt law

Coalition partners have decided to bring new draft of Contempt of Court law before August 8.


According to sources the coalition partners have decided that a new draft of the law would be brought before the parliament before August 8.


The new bill too will give protection to the prime minister.

This was decided in a meeting of coalition partners with President Zardari in Islamabad.

The meeting was jointly chaired by the president and the prime minister.

The coalition partners have decided to meet the future challenges jointly.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister Raja Ashraf called on the President at Aiwan Sadar Friday night.

The two leaders discussed political situation in the country in the backdrop of the Supreme Court’s decision on CoC law.

حکومت اور اتحادی جماعتوں کا ''توہین عدالت'' کا نیا قانون لانے کا فیصلہ

حکومت اور اتحادی جماعتوں نے سپریم کورٹ کی جانب سے توہین عدالت قانون کالعدم قرار دیئے جانے کے بعد ایک نیا قانون لانے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

دنیا نیوز کے ذرائع کے مطابق حکومت اور اتحادی جماعتوں کے فیصلے کے بعد وزارت قانون نے توہین عدالت کے نئے قانون کے مسودے پر تیزی سے کام شروع کر دیا ہے۔ توہین عدالت کا نیا قانون 8 اگست سے پہلے پارلیمنٹ میں لایا جائے گا۔ ذرائع کے مطابق حکومت اور اتحادی جماعتوں نے توہین عدالت کے نئے قانون میں بھی وزیراعظم کو تحفظ فراہم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں صدر مملکت آصف علی زرداری اور وزیراعظم راجہ پرویز اشرف کے زیر صدارت اتحادی جماعتوں کا اجلاس ہوا جس میں نائب وزیر اعظم چودھری پرویز الٰہی، مسلم لیگ ق کے صدر چودھری شجاعت حسین سمیت دیگر اتحادی جماعتوں کے سربراہوں نے بھی شرکت کی۔

اجلاس میں توہین عدالت قانون کالعدم قرار دیئے جانے کے بعد کی صورتحال پر بھی غور کیا گیا جبکہ ملکی سیاسی صورت حال بھی اجلاس میں زیر غور آئی۔ ذرائع کے مطابق اتحادی جماعتوں کے اہم اجلاس میں مستقبل کی حکمت عملی پر بات چیت کی گئی۔ اجلاس میں اعادہ کیا گیا کہ پارلیمنٹ کو قانون سازی کا حق ہے.اس لئے پارلیمنٹ قانون سازی کے اپنے حق سے دستبردار نہیں ہو گی بلکہ متحد ہو کر تمام چیلنجز کا مقابلہ کیا جائے گا.

دنیا نیوز کے مطابق حکومت اور اتحادی جماعتوں نے اجلاس میں فیصلہ کیا کہ پارلیمنٹ کے اختیار کیلئے کوئی بھی قیمت ادا کرنا پڑی تو کریں گے. پارلیمنٹ کے قانون سازی کے اختیار پر کوئی سمجھوتا نہیں کیا جائے گا. موجودہ حالات میں زیادہ اتحاد کی ضرورت ہے.اس لئے تمام چیلنجز کا متحد ہو کر پوری قوت سے مقابلہ کیا جائے گا. صدارتی ترجمان کے مطابق وزیر اعظم راجہ پرویز اشرف نے اجلاس کو توانائی بحران پر بھی بریفننگ دی اور اس بات کا عزم ظاہر کیا کہ ملک میں جاری توانائی بحران پر جلد قابو پا لیا جائے گا. اجلاس میں کراچی میں جاری بھتہ خوری کے واقعات کی روک تھام کےلئے خصوصی انتظامات کرنے کا بھی فیصلہ کیا گیا. اجلاس سے پہلے وزیراعظم راجہ پرویز اشرف نے صدر آصف علی زرادری سے ملاقات کی۔ ملاقات میں توہین عدالت قانون کو کالعدم قرار دیئے جانے کے بعد کی صورتحال تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔

Attorney General Irfan Qadir said on Friday terming the Contempt of Court Act 2012 null and void is un-constitutional. Commenting on today's Supreme Court verdict‚ he said the decision stunned him. He said legislation is the job of the parliament and in this way it is supreme. The Attorney General said Judiciary should not interfere in the working of legislature. He also said that the Court has no power to restore Contempt of Court Ordinance. Ifran Qadir said the Contempt of Court Act 2012 was a good law. Meanwhile‚ PPP leader and prominent lawyer Fawad Chaudhary has said in today's verdict‚ the Supreme Court bench has transgressed his authority. Commenting on the verdict in Contempt of Court Case‚ he said that some observations are contemptuous towards legislature.

Now the corrupt politicians who are pets of Zardari, partners in crimes of loots and stealing national wealth, would be drafting another bill, to save the arse of Raja.

This game of perpetual hide and seek cannot continue in Pakistan.
Real shame is Pakistani media, despite their ho ha, they are ineffective, either purposefully or unintentionally.
