Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that service to the people is a form of worship and it is the responsibility of the government to provide the best services and facilities to the masses. Keeping in view this fact, he said, WASA and other institutions should perform their duties with commitment and dedication.
He said that elected representatives should remain present in their respective constituencies during rainy season and stand by the people in any emergency or difficult situation. He said that assembly members who serve the masses have his deep respect and they should help the people in the time of need so that they could be given opportunity to serve the masses in future as well. He said that there is no substitute to hard work therefore elected representatives and government officers should serve the people with diligence. He said that special arrangements should be made for the supply of water during the sacred month of Ramadan ul Mubarak as the water consumption increases in the holy month. He directed that complaint cells be set up regarding WASA at the level of provincial constituencies in Lahore and they should remain in contact with the central complaint cell.
He was addressing a high level meeting at tent office Minar-e-Pakistan here today to review de-silting campaign of drains, availability of drinking water and the arrangements for monsoon. Third-party audit report on de-silting of drains was also presented in the meeting in which this process was declared as satisfactory.
