it was a direct assassination from NATO. His 100 car convoy was destroyed only Gaddafi and 3 other men survived it, Gaddafi thought that the rebels wont kill a leader, but he should have realized that those rebels were not humans they were hired guns to assassinate him. If Gaddafi cared about his life he would have fled Libya like Ben Ali after the fall of Tripoli. He had less powers than a dictator as he was only a ceremonial head like Presidents in Pakistan. He had gradually reduced his powers when he was head of Libya.

brothers. I think the name was given after Gaddafi took that brave and bold stance late in 70s or 80s. I mean specifically for that. afterwards what happened to him in his country or so are there own problems. but i think it should be retained as whatever he did at that time was brave. now the other council of libya is fighting among themselves and if we change it on their will after a month when other tribe takeover then the same thing will go on and on as the west occupied countries never got stable as for as my knowledge is concerned or to say till my age what i ve witnessed
