Around 1000 are civilian casualties, again some might be killed by soldiers and some by rebels, in my experience casualties do happen in war, its nothing to get all pumped up about how many civilian casualties do you have in your tribal areas when your army went in, I remember a little girl in a car, her car was shot at by FC men both her legs had to be amputated, **** happens all the time in war.
Rebels are no Mujahideen there rebels just like you have rebels in balochistan or the Pakistani taliban. If Pakistan is a peaceful country and the Pakistani taliban try to take over Islamabad would ask other countries to support the Mujahideen?
I am not against fighting those who blow themselves up in mosques. The same excuse you are making was made by the Arab League to Syria when they were trying to impose a no Fly Zone over Libya... Syria argued that it will give the West a reason to attack a Muslim country but the Saudi said that they will only shoot down Libyan fighter jets and not bomb anyone and only Muslim countries will take part in it... We all know what happened next, they bombed the **** out of Libya with thousands of tons of bombs and hundreds of cruise missiles by both Britain and USA... thousands of civilians were killed and Nato assassinated Gaddafi when they tracked his 100 car convoy by satellite and bombed him after Fajr prayers.
There is nothing glorious about wars and revolution, if you look at history, in every revolution one tyrant is replaced by the other, it does more harm than good.
To stay out of the mess those who really care for the Syrians should not take sides with either the army or the rebels. The more weapons you give to the rebels or the army the more infrastructure will be destroyed and more innocent civilians will be killed. We would have had peace if the Arab League wanted but they dont want peace they want regime change, they want to replace a dictator with another dictator who is influenced less by Iran and more by USA.. someone like Hamid Karzai. Do not get carried away with Western news channels and biased ones in middleeast such as Aljazeera. The most Unbiased news channel is Russia Today they will tell you what is really going on in Syria. check Rt.com
